Background: Banyi was rescued from a farmer who tried to sell him to a dog meat trader in Buyeo-gun, Korea, last fall. After spending some time at a temporary shelter, Banyi joined our partner boarding house and has been living with other dogs.
Personality and Socialization: Banyi is a gentle and sweet dog with a medium energy level. He is happy, cheerful, affectionate, and loves to snuggle. Banyi is not shy around strangers and enjoys sitting on their laps and soaking up attention. He gets along well with other dogs, displaying a friendly and submissive nature. Banyi thrives on spending time with humans, becoming very affectionate and cuddly in their presence.
Behavior: Banyi loves outdoor activities and going for walks, and he’s great on a leash. He is fine in the car and during baths. Not a big barker, generally Banyi only barks with joy when he’s happy to see the shelter staff or during mealtime. Overall, he is very cheerful, happy, and sociable.
Health and Diet: Following his rescue, Banyi underwent comprehensive vet checkups that revealed he had heartworms. After completing treatments, he is now heartworm-free and healthy. Banyi has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. Additionally, he receives monthly prevention for internal and external parasites. He eats dry kibble twice a day and has not shown any allergic reactions so far. Banyi takes treats well and is not a picky eater.
Ideal Home: The perfect home for Banyi would be with someone who works from home or is retired, as he thrives on spending time with his human companions. He is best suited for someone who loves outdoor activities with their dog and wants an affectionate and sweet companion. Banyi would flourish in a family with a relaxed lifestyle and another friendly fur companion to play with. He is a happy and very loving boy, and whoever adopts him will be very lucky.
