**Note: Currently, Boksil is in Korea, but we are looking for her forever home in Vancouver. Her flight from Korea to Vancouver is scheduled for Feb 10.
Background: This sweet little soul was finally rescued from a city pound in Chuncheon, Korea, after seven long years of living there. She was part of our “Save 100 Dogs” project, a mission to give dogs like her a second chance at life. After her rescue, she spent some time in a loving foster home before moving to our partner shelter. Despite her gentle spirit and loving heart, she was overlooked and left neglected. Everyone agreed she was lovely and adorable, but no one gave her the chance she deserved. When we heard her story, we couldn’t bear the thought of her spending another day in that lonely place. We took her out of the city pound and decided to bring her to Vancouver, hoping there’s someone out there waiting just for her.
Personality and Socialization: Boksil is the definition of a velcro dog—affectionate, sweet, and happiest when nestled close to her humans. With her gentle, loyal nature and medium energy, she doesn’t need much—just love, companionship, and a cozy spot by your side. While she can coexist with other dogs, she prefers the company of quiet, gentle souls and has been teased by more dominant dogs in the past. Boksil would thrive as the only dog or with another calm, senior companion who shares her peaceful pace.
Behaviour: Smart and eager to please, Boksil adjusts quickly to new environments. She’s non-destructive, quiet, and incredibly snuggly when her humans are near. However, she struggles with separation anxiety and doesn’t like being left alone or confined. Boksil has limited leash experience but loves following her human and enjoys outdoor adventures. She’s also great in the car and during bath time.
Health and Diet: Boksil had a full veterinary check-up in December, including dental cleaning, and a recent eye exam. While she has some cloudiness in her eyes due to age, she’s otherwise healthy and ready for her forever home. She’s spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and receives monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks, and heartworm.
Ideal Home: Boksil is more than ready to give her heart to someone special. She’d do best in a calm, loving home with someone who’s retired or works from home—someone who can spend most of their time with her, offering the comfort and companionship she’s been missing. After being overlooked for so long, she’s eager to find a family that sees her for who she truly is: a loyal, affectionate, and devoted companion.
If you’re looking for a best friend who will cherish you with every beat of her little heart, Boksil is waiting to meet you. Could you be the one to give her the forever home she’s been dreaming of?
