Background: Dei is a brave little survivor with an enormous heart. She was rescued after a traffic accident left her badly injured at just 3–4 months old. After undergoing successful amputation surgery, Dei recovered beautifully and has been living at a shelter since. Despite her tough start, she remains sweet, gentle, and full of love.
Personality and Socialization: Dei is an absolute sweetheart! While she can be a little shy at first, she warms up quickly and loves showing off her playful side. Once she gets to know you, she’ll charm you with her affectionate nature and playful antics, even acting silly to grab your attention. Dei loves playing fetch—she’s a lively Lab when there’s a ball involved!
Dei gets along well with calm, gentle dogs but can feel a bit overwhelmed by overly energetic or rough playmates. She hasn’t met cats or children yet, but her calm and kind personality suggests she could adapt well in a loving and patient environment.
Behaviors: Since Dei spends most of her time in a kennel, her leash-walking experience is limited. However, when she gets the chance to go out with volunteers, she absolutely loves it! She follows her handler’s lead well, doesn’t pull a lot on the leash, and just needs a little practice to build her confidence.
Dei is still getting used to car rides, but she remains calm without drooling or fussing. Recently, she’s discovered her love for playing with balls and is always excited about her favorite snacks. As a three-legged dog, Dei thrives with light exercises, like short walks and gentle play, rather than intense physical activities.
Health and Diet: Dei is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and takes monthly internal and external parasite preventatives. She’s in great overall health and eats dry kibble twice a day.
Ideal Home: Dei would thrive in a home with a family that understands her gentle, loving nature and can provide her with the care and support she deserves. A calm, steady canine companion would be a bonus, but energetic dogs might be too much for her. She would do best with patient adopters who can help her adjust to new experiences, like regular leash walks and living indoors.
Dei hasn’t been tested with kids or cats, but her calm personality suggests she could adapt to a peaceful home. She’s looking for a family that will embrace her uniqueness and give her the safe, happy life she’s been waiting for. Dei is ready to share her love and loyalty with her forever family. Could that be you?
Dei is available for adoption. The fee to adopt Dei is $280.
Note: US adopters are responsible for customs clearance fee, which is approximately $140 USD.
