Finley was found on mountain in the middle of cold December in 2017. He was dumped with another senior dachshund. They were both neutered, very social and affectionate; they had to be someone’s dogs. After being rescued, they were sent to a city pound, but sadly but predictably no one showed up to claim ownership or to apply to adopt them.
Finley is a very loving dog that will need a lot of attention. He would be best suited in a home where he is not left alone for more than a couple of hours at a time, and is not with cats and possibly the only dog in the household. He does well with children, and is very friendly and understands basic commands such as come, sit, stay, no and good boy. But he suffers from separation anxiety and will need a home where he can have someone’s undivided attention. His anxiety causes him to become agitated if not addressed, he often will not calm down unless he’s being held or on your lap. He’s not fully house-trained yet (his foster is working on it).
Currently, he is with his foster in Vancouver.
