Background: Gigi’s life began on the streets, where she was found in early spring 2018, just after giving birth. She was sent to a high-kill shelter but was fortunately rescued by a local organization before it was too late. Since then, she has been living in the shelter, patiently waiting for her forever family to come along.

Personality & Socialization: Gigi is a gentle, friendly soul with a medium to low energy level. While she can be a bit shy around strangers, she warms up quickly with a little time and patience. She loves being around people and enjoys receiving pets and attention. Gigi gets along well with other dogs as long as they are gentle and calm, and she currently lives peacefully with her fellow shelter dogs. Though she hasn’t been tested with children or cats yet, her calm demeanor suggests she could adapt well.

Behaviors: Gigi enjoys her walks with familiar volunteers and adjusts to new environments after a short while. While she can be nervous in new situations, a bit of patience helps her relax. She’s an excellent car companion, quickly adapting to rides and enjoying the view without showing any signs of stress. Gigi is quiet, well-behaved, and rarely barks, making her an easy-going addition to any home. She shows no signs of aggression or separation anxiety.

Health and Diet: Gigi has undergone full vet checkups and is in good health. She eats dry kibble twice a day and is on monthly flea, tick, and mosquito prevention. She was treated for heartworm after being rescued in 2018 and is now completely free of it. Some of her teeth are worn down from chewing on kennel wires in her early shelter years, but her roots and nerves are unaffected. Gigi is healthy, happy, and ready to find her forever home.

Ideal Home: Gigi is looking for a calm, patient family who lives in a quiet neighborhood with a relaxing lifestyle. She is a smart and loyal dog who still has much to learn but is eager and obedient. A retired person or someone with lots of spare time who can devote love and patience to Gigi would be her perfect match. Though she’s been in the shelter for six long years, Gigi is still loving, playful, and full of potential as a loyal companion.

Gigi is available for adoption. The fee to adopt Gigi is $780.
