Background: Green’s journey started on the streets when he was rescued in the spring of 2018 at just four months old. His life took a turn for the better when he narrowly avoided euthanasia at a high-kill shelter, thanks to a timely rescue. Since then, Green has spent over six years in a shelter, patiently waiting for his forever home. He’s seen other dogs come and go, but his time has yet to come.
Personality and Socialization: Green is a gentle sweetheart with a quiet demeanor. Initially shy around strangers, he slowly warms up with patience and reveals his friendly, affectionate nature. While he was once a playful pup, the departure of his shelter roommate has made him more subdued. Despite his reserved nature, Green is loving and eager for companionship. He just needs the right person to help him feel secure.
Behaviors: Green is a gentle, well-mannered boy who loves going for walks and exploring the outdoors. While he may feel a bit nervous in new environments, he quickly settles in and adapts well. While he gets a bit nervous in the car, he remains chill and handles it well overall. He’s not a fan of baths but will patiently allow his human to take care of him during grooming. Indoors, Green is quiet and well-behaved, making him a great companion. He gets along well with gentle and friendly dogs but can feel anxious around boisterous, hyper pups. He has no experience with cats or young children.
Health and Diet: Green has undergone all necessary medical examinations and is in good health, ready for his new family. He is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and receives regular parasite treatments. He currently eats dry kibble twice a day and hasn’t shown any allergies so far.
Ideal Home: Green’s ideal home is with someone experienced in rescue dogs. A calm and patient environment would help him thrive. He needs a family willing to invest time and love to help him adjust and feel safe. Green would do well in a quiet home, but most importantly, with someone who will appreciate his kind heart and be there to guide him through the next chapter of his life.
