**Note: Currently, Haemi is in a foster home in Vancouver, BC.
Background: Last fall, while driving through the countryside, EK, the founder of Free Korean Dogs, spotted a little puppy inside a wire cage on the side of the road. The puppy looked scared and lonely, her eyes filled with sadness. The wire cage had injured her paws, and she hardly touched the little food that was left for her.
EK tried to convince the owners to give her the puppy, who she named Haemi, but they refused. As the weather turned colder, EK kept thinking about Haemi and continued to try and help her. Finally, to her surprise, the wife agreed to let EK take Haemi.
Haemi lived with other dogs at our partner boarding house and is currently in a foster home in Vancouver with two dogs and a cat.
Personality and Socialization: Haemi is an affectionate, and docile girl who has blossomed in her new environment. Initially timid, she quickly blossomed into a sociable and friendly dog at her boarding house. Haemi loves human attention and gets along well with other dogs. Her sweet and gentle nature makes her an ideal companion for any family seeking a loving dog.
Behaviours: Haemi is still learning to walk on a leash, but she’s eager to learn! She might get a little nervous in the car or at the vet, but she usually manages well. She’s usually quiet, but she might bark happily when she’s excited. Haemi is a smart girl and will do well with someone who enjoys teaching and guiding her. She uses both indoor pee pads and the outdoors for potty breaks.
Health and Diet: When Haemi was rescued, she had anaplasmosis. She has completed her treatment and is now healthy. Haemi has been spayed, microchipped, and is up-to-date on all vaccinations. She also receives monthly parasite prevention and has tested negative for heartworm.
Haemi enjoys eating dry kibble twice a day and has no known allergies. She is in excellent health and ready to find her forever home
Ideal Home: Haemi would be happiest in a home where she gets lots of love and attention. A quiet neighborhood would be best for her, and someone who has plenty of time to spend with her would be a perfect match. Haemi would be happy as the only dog, but she could also do well with another dog in the home. It’s important for Haemi to have someone around most of the day, as she doesn’t like to be alone for long.
Anyone who adopts Haemi will be very lucky. She’s a sweet and loving dog who will bring joy to her new family.
Haemi is available for adoption. The fee to adopt Haemi is $780.
Note: US adopters are responsible for customs clearance fee, which is approximately $140 USD.
