Rescued from the Dangjin dog meat farm in 2018, Heendoongyi’s past life was marred with trauma. Fight instincts always took over in a state of fear, and he exhibited fear-based aggressive behaviors towards both humans and other animals. In an effort to allow him to discover the feeling of safety, he was sent to training school to receive help from professional trainers.
In the 4 years he attended the school, Heendoonyi formed a deep bond with a single trainer. However, other trainers found it challenging to approach him. Unfortunately, when his trusted trainer left the institution leaving no one to be able to work with him, the decision was made to move him to our boarding house for his continued care.
With age and continuity in his life, Heendoongyi has become more calm but remains unapproachable and very cautious of strangers. Given his history and natural reservations, finding a suitable trainer much less a forever home is a challenging prospect.
However, Heendoongyi is content to live life on his own terms. While he may never be suited to live out his life as a companion, he enjoys exploring the grounds of the boarding house, having his meals, and finding peace in his own time undisturbed by humans or other dogs.

Resigning to the fact that this adorable white baby (which his name translates to) will likely spend the rest of his natural life in the sanctuary, his sponsorship will ensure we can continue providing for his shelter, food, and medical needs for as long as he is with us, along with the care and attention he so richly deserves.
