Background: This brave little terrier was rescued from the bustling streets of Chuncheon, South Korea, where he faced constant danger from fast-moving cars. After several attempts, Hyundai was saved in early September and brought to the safety of our partner boarding house. He has since been living peacefully with other dogs.
Personality and Socialization: Hyundai is a happy, affectionate, and playful boy who adores the company of people and other dogs. While he may be a bit shy and catious around new faces, he warms up quickly—especially to women. With his medium energy level, he enjoys gentle play and gets along best with friendly, non-dominant dogs. Though he hasn’t been introduced to cats or young children, his gentle nature suggests he could adapt well with proper guidance.
Behaviour: Hyundai is a quiet and well-mannered pup. He has shown no destructive tendencies. He prefers outdoor potty breaks and is good on a leash. True to his terrier nature, Hyundai is a talented jumper! Adopters should be cautious about leaving him unattended in a backyard, especially if the fence is low or chain-link, as he can easily jump or climb over it. Although this behavior was primarily observed in the beginning, when Hyundai was adjusting to his new environment and learning to trust his humans, adopters should still keep it in mind. Hyundai handles vet visits, baths, and car rides like a champ. He is a very smart and easy-going dog.
Health and Diet: Hyundai is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. He has completed his treatment for anaplasmosis from tick bites, and is fully recovered and healthy. He also receives monthly preventatives for internal and external parasites and is heartworm-negative. He is currently on dry kibbles, twice a day as part of his diet and shows no signs of allergies.
Ideal Home: Hyundai would flourish in a loving home where his people can spend plenty of time with him. While he isn’t demanding and has no signs of separation anxiety, he thrives when he’s included as an important part of family life. He’d enjoy a canine sibling to play with, though he’d also do well as the only dog if he gets plenty of attention and companionship. An active family that enjoys outdoor adventures with their dogs would be a great match for this spirited little boy.
