Background: Jack’s story is one of resilience. Rescued from a dog slaughterhouse on Ganghwa Island, Korea, in February 2023, he was raised for meat and was one of many dogs awaiting a grim fate. But now, Jack’s life has completely changed. After spending time at a private shelter, he’s currently living in a foster home in Delta, BC, waiting for his forever family.

Personality and Socialization: Jack has always stood out for his gentle and laid-back personality. He’s a curious soul who enjoys lounging in the sun, playing with other dogs, and, most of all, being with his humans. Tug games are his absolute favorite, and he’s a bit of a charmer—he responds enthusiastically to his name and loves to offer hugs and kisses to the people he loves. Jack is well-socialized, getting along with cats, children, and other dogs. His playful yet calm demeanor makes him a joy to be around.

Behavior: Indoors, Jack is quiet, well-behaved, and non-destructive. He gets along well with cats, is gentle with children, and enjoys the company of other dogs. He loves his walks and outdoor time, especially soaking up the sun. While he’s a little nervous in the car, he handles baths and vet visits with ease. Jack’s calm, balanced nature makes him an easy companion, especially for those who enjoy a peaceful and relaxed home environment.

Health and Diet: Jack is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He’s in great health and receives monthly parasite prevention. He eats dry food twice a day, though he does have a mild allergy to duck meat. With regular vet care and a consistent diet, Jack is thriving and ready to bring his sunny disposition to his forever family.

Ideal Home: Jack would thrive in a quiet neighborhood rather than a bustling city apartment. He’s best suited to someone with experience handling large-breed dogs and who can spend plenty of time with him. Jack is ready to find his forever family, where he can bring joy with his boundless love and playful energy. He’s very smart, loyal, and handsome – whoever adopts him will be truly fortunate.
