Background: Jinju and her brother, Winnie, along with their mother, were rescued from a city pound in Chuncheon, Korea, last November. Since then, they’ve been living at our partner boarding house with other dogs. When she was rescued, Jinju had canine coronavirus, but she has fully recovered and is now healthy.
Personality and Socialization: Unlike her more reserved brother, Jinju is friendly, affectionate, and more open to human interaction. She is still a gentle and quiet girl but warms up to people more easily. She enjoys being around other dogs, especially those with a similar size and gentle personality. Jinju is playful and curious, showing a sweet and loving nature to those she trusts. She wags her tail when greeting familiar faces and enjoys gentle pets from shelter staff. While she may be a bit shy in new situations, she adapts with patience and positive reinforcement. Jinju has no experience with children or cats.
Behaviour: Jinju handles car rides, vet checkups, and baths well—she may be a little nervous but allows handling without issues. She hasn’t been leash-trained yet but is not destructive. She loves treats, enjoys playing with other dogs, and is eager to learn.
Health and Diet: Jinju is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. She takes monthly parasite preventative and eats dry kibble twice a day and has no known allergies.
Ideal Home: Jinju would do well with a family that understands the needs of a shy but friendly dog. She would thrive in a patient, loving home where she can continue building confidence. Having another friendly and well-adjusted dog in the home would be a big plus, as she enjoys companionship. A quiet neighborhood and a calm household would be ideal for her. With time and love, Jinju will become a devoted and affectionate companion, bringing warmth and joy to her forever family.
