Get monthly updates about dogs like Juno and follow their journey from suffering to a forever-loving home.
Juno is one of the survivors from the Siheung dog meat farm in Korea, where 101 dogs were rescued in May 2022. Upon their rescue, Juno and his companions were relocated to our partner boarding house. Juno’s brother, Uno, found his forever home in Toronto, Canada, and is living a joyful life. Now it’s Juno’s turn to find his forever family. Initially, Juno was a bit shyer compared to Uno, which required more time to help him become comfortable around people.
Juno has always been a friendly and social dog when it comes to other canines. He gets along well with them and is quite easy-going. In fact, we’re hoping to find a home with another dog because Juno tends to settle in more quickly when he’s in the company of confident and happy canine companions. He’ll follow their lead and mirror their behavior, making his transition into his new life smoother.
Around humans, Juno tends to be reserved with strangers, taking some time to warm up. However, once he becomes familiar with someone, he transforms into a sweet and friendly companion. He now enjoys sitting on people’s laps, receiving attention, and relishing head strokes. His adopter should have experience with rescue dogs and understand how to effectively communicate with them.
Juno has started learning leash walking, though it’s a gradual process, and he may still feel nervous outside the shelter. However, we’re witnessing steady improvements, and with consistent effort and patience, his confidence on walks will grow.
Juno’s ideal adopter(s) should be experienced with rescue dogs like him and already have a friendly furry companion for Juno to connect with and play alongside. A home with a secure, fenced-in backyard is essential, as it will ease Juno’s transition. Moving to a new home may take him some time to adjust to new people and surroundings, so his new family should be patient and understanding during this period. Juno would thrive in a home where weekend hikes and opportunities to explore pique his curiosity.
Juno is available for adoption. The fee to adopt Juno is $780.
Note: US adopters are responsible for customs clearance fee, which is approximately $140 USD.
