Background: Lavi, a compassionate canine companion, embarked on a challenging journey. In 2018, she gave birth to two puppies on the streets; tragically, one did not survive, while the other was adopted into a caring family. Following her street ordeal, Lavi received care at a foster home to recover from childbirth. Subsequently, she resided for five years at a private boarding house until its closure necessitated her relocation to the current shelter, where she has been living peacefully with other dogs.

Personality and Socialization: Lavi, with moderate energy levels, initially exhibits caution and shyness in new surroundings and towards unfamiliar individuals, but she becomes sweet once she establishes a bond. She tends to feel more at ease around women than men. While she is selective about making new doggy friends, Lavi is friendly and playful with familiar canine companions from her past. She prefers the company of dogs she knows well and isn’t keen on meeting new ones. Lavi has not had experience with cats or young children.

Behaviors: Lavi loves to have fun running around and playing in the play area. She’s smart and learns quickly, doing well with using pee pads and going potty outside. She’s okay with baths, enjoys treats, and loves being petted by people she trusts. She might bark at loud motorcycles or cars. She is currently learning to walk on a leash, and although it has been a slow process, she is making progress.

Health: Lavi is diligently maintained on monthly internal and external parasite preventatives. She has been spayed, microchipped, and is up-to-date on all vaccinations. She has no allergy concerns so far.

Ideal Home: An ideal adopter for Lavi would be someone experienced with dogs, especially those with cautious and shy tendencies like hers initially. Patience and effective communication are key qualities they should possess to help Lavi adjust comfortably. A fenced backyard is essential for her smooth transition. A relaxed lifestyle with the willingness to cater to Lavi’s specific needs would make for an excellent match.
