Get monthly updates about dogs like Mani and follow their journey from suffering to a forever-loving home.

Mani was one of the 101 dogs rescued from Siheung dog meat farm. She is also the mother to one of our “Siheung puppies” litter who have all found their forever homes in Canada and the US. Her journey since her rescue has been filled with challenges, yet she remains a resilient and inspiring soul.

Please join us in sending prayers and positive thoughts to our dear Mani. Right from the beginning, Mani captured our hearts with her vibrant energy and affection for people. However, Mani faced numerous health challenges. She had heartworms, severe dental problems, and mammary tumors. We started heartworm treatments right away, followed by dental surgery. We had plans for a mammary surgery, but then she experienced a sudden head tilt, leading to an emergency.

After undergoing a series of comprehensive CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and bloodwork, Mani was diagnosed with idiopathic vestibular syndrome (IVS). It took several months, but thankfully, her symptoms are now under control with medication. However, during this time, her mammary tumors progressed, necessitating another major surgery in early May 2024. The surgery was challenging, but successful, although biopsy results revealed the tumors were malignant. Given her current health challenges and complications, she is continually being monitored. We hope she remains in remission as chemo or further surgery would be too much for her to handle.

With age, Mani has noticeably less energy, but thankfully her appetite and love of food remain strong. Despite this, her symptoms have been difficult to manage, most notably her consistent loss of balance that hinders her ability to carry out everyday activities such as feeding herself. We have been undergoing a trial-and-error process of neurological medication to manage her head tilt, but we are unsure how much longer she will be able to enjoy a good quality of life.

Mani’s Sponsorship Needs

Medical Expenses

Mani’s medical expenses have reached nearly $10k to date, but we will continue to support her in whatever way possible. Sponsoring Mani would allow us to continue to navigate through her health issues and provide her with the proper treatments so she can experience a longer, healthier, happier, and more comfortable life. She has already been through so much, and our deepest wish is for Mani to recover her strength and experience peace.
