**Note: Currently, Seowon is in Waterloo, ON.
Background: Seobom was one of 16 dogs saved from a hoarding situation. The elderly owner fell ill and was hospitalized. The dogs were left neglected, causing complaints from neighbors. A shelter volunteer discovered the issue, eventually leading to the rescue of all the dogs.
Living Environment: Seowon lived with other dogs in a shelter in Korea before coming to Canada. He now resides with a foster family and another dog in Waterloo. His foster parent works from home, providing him with company and attention throughout the day.
Personality: Seowon is a quiet, gentle, and submissive boy who enjoys being close to those he trusts. While mostly calm and quiet, he shows cheerfulness, especially when given treats or meeting dogs he likes. He has medium to low energy and is shy and gentle.
Behaviors: Adjusting to his new Canadian environment, Seowon follows his foster closely and is happiest when near them. He is quiet, not demanding, and a bit nervous in certain situations like car rides and baths. Seowon loves sunbathing on the deck and is food-motivated. He is in the process of house-training, preferring to do his business outside but needing pee pads indoors. He loves going for walks! While he may be a bit shy at first, once he gets comfortable with his surroundings, he really enjoys being outside and walking on a leash.
Socialization: Seowon gets along well with other dogs, especially those who are friendly and calm, regardless of size. Initially shy around new people in a new environment, he warms up with time and shows his sweet and gentle nature once he trusts his humans. Seowon will thrive with someone who truly understands his personality and characteristics. He has not been exposed to cats or young children.
Health: Initially heartworm positive, Seowon completed treatments and is now healthy. Neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, he receives monthly preventative care.
Ideal Home: Seowon is best suited for someone with experience handling dogs, especially those who thrive in quiet and relaxed environments. He would also benefit from having another gentle furry sibling to keep him company. A quiet home without children, cats, or frequent visitors is ideal for him. Seowon would do well in a house with a fenced backyard, which would help him transition smoothly. Seowon is a gentle and loving boy who needs a patient and committed individual ready to dedicate time, training, and loving care to help him flourish.
