Sihwa

In a realm where puppies take on motherhood, an unconventional reality unfolds. Sihwa was among the 101 dogs rescued from Siheung dog meat farm in May 2022. When she was rescued, she was estimated to be under 1 year old and still had a youthful appearance. Her pregnancy came as a surprise, becoming evident when she began acting strangely and her belly grew.

Sihwa’s early life was shadowed by the harsh conditions of a deplorable dog meat farm, lacking guidance in motherly instincts. Unprepared and bewildered, she embarked on the daunting path of raising her newborns. The journey, once promising, took an unexpected turn as her pups opened their eyes and explored mobility. Sihwa’s intentions became confused, leading to unintentional harm. She snapped and separated from her own, despite their tender age.

Insight from our trainer revealed that Sihwa’s reactions were driven by annoyance due to emotional immaturity. Denied nurturing lessons from her own mother, she faced challenges alone. A cycle of early breeding perpetuated their shared hardship. Sihwa’s story echoes a common thread among dog meat farm mothers. Driven by profit, the consequences of early breeding remain overlooked.

Emerging from the shadows, Sihwa’s transformation began. Coming from a difficult background, she found it hard to trust humans and often displayed defensive behavior.

Sihwa’s journey doesn’t conclude here. Transcending her past, she found solace in the training school. Her path to trust remains intricate, scarred by past human interactions. Yet, we stand resolute, refusing to give up on her. Sihwa’s tale reminds us that even in adversity, resilience can flourish. As we unite, a village bound by care, we pave the way for a brighter future for these precious lives.
