In 2020, Somie was discovered wandering the streets of Paju, Korea in a terrible condition, covered in dust, with tangled hair and severely underweight. It was evident that she had been surviving on the streets for a long time. Sadly, she was captured and sent to a high-kill shelter, where no one claimed her. Fortunately, she was rescued before being euthanized.
Somie is a very affectionate dog, though she may be initially shy around people. With time and patience, she becomes curious, sweet, and loving. She craves attention and affection and will open up once she feels comfortable.
Somie spends most of her days sitting alone in a corner, watching other dogs play. Although she gets along well with other dogs and plays with them occasionally, she seems sad and lonely. We understand that living in a shelter is only temporary and can be tough for some dogs.
Despite being in the shelter for over three years, Somie had no interest from potential adopters due to her age. However, we believe that her forever family is out there.
Somie has recently undergone a veterinary checkup, which included a thorough examination of her teeth and scaling. The results indicate that she has no joint problems and is in good health, making her ready to be adopted into her forever home.
Somie would be an excellent fit for someone experienced with dogs seeking a senior furry companion. An adopter who lives a relaxed lifestyle such as a retiree, and lives in a house with a fenced-in backyard, would provide the perfect environment for Somie to spend her golden years.
The adoption fee for Somie is $260CAD.
