Taeyang 3

Background: Taeyang was rescued from a city pound in Chuncheon, Korea, as part of the “Save 100 Dogs” project this summer. Since then, he’s been living with other dogs at our partner shelter, waiting for his forever family.

Personality and Socialization: Taeyang is a sociable and friendly boy with a medium energy level. While he might be a bit shy during the first couple of hours in a new environment, he warms up quickly. He adores people, including men, and loves to stay close to anyone who gives him affection. However, Taeyang tends to get jealous when other dogs receive attention. He would thrive as the only dog in his home. Although he can coexist with other dogs, the shelter environment with many dogs stresses him out. He often seeks out quiet spots to relax away from the crowd. Taeyang will be happiest as the sole “prince” of his home, soaking up all the love and attention.

Behaviors: Taeyang is smart and loves following his humans around, but he also enjoys quiet moments by himself. He is well-behaved in the car and during baths, though vet visits can make him a bit anxious. His favorite activity is going for walks—he’s usually calm indoors but comes alive outdoors. He loves to play and explore the world through his nose.

Health and Diet: When Taeyang was rescued, he had anaplasmosis from tick bites, but he completed treatment and is now healthy. He is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He also receives monthly preventatives for internal and external parasites and is heartworm-negative. Taeyang recently underwent a thorough dental work, including scaling and the extraction of four teeth. A comprehensive veterinary exam has confirmed that he is in great health. He eats dry food twice a day.
