Background: Tanhyun was rescued from a small town in Paju, Korea in the fall of 2020. He was sent to a highkill shelter but luckily saved from euthanasia. Since then, he has been living in a local shelter with other dogs, patiently waiting for his forever family. Shelter life has been tough—the converted greenhouse is freezing in winter and unbearably hot and humid in summer. Tanhyun deserves more than this. We hope he finds a loving home soon, where he can finally leave the hardships behind and experience the comfort and security of a real family.

Personality and Socialization: Tanhyun is a friendly and affectionate boy who adores people—both men and women. He is bright, happy, and full of positivity. His adaptable nature makes him well-suited to new environments, and he gets along well with friendly dogs.

Despite spending most of his life in a kennel, Tanhyun is well-rounded. When a shelter volunteer took him on an outing to the city, he handled everything—car rides, baths, busy streets, and even a shopping mall—with curiosity rather than fear. He followed his human’s lead beautifully and remained calm, even in an elevator. His docile, obedient nature and medium energy level make him an easygoing and lovable companion.

Health and Diet: When Tanhyun was first rescued, he had a pelvic fracture that healed naturally. During his vet checkups, the vet confirmed that it doesn’t cause him any issues—he walks normally and shows no signs of pain—so surgery was not necessary.

He does have a mild, ongoing ear infection, but it is manageable with medication. However, as the vet pointed out, the shelter environment isn’t helping. The extreme weather, poor air quality, and limited food options make it difficult for his ears to fully heal. In a stable home environment, his condition is likely to improve significantly. Other than that, Tanhyun is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

Ideal Home: Tanhyun would thrive in a calm, quiet home with a relaxed lifestyle. He would love a family that has plenty of time to spend with him, as he enjoys companionship. He doesn’t require much—just love, patience, and a comfortable home where he can finally feel safe and secure.

This sweet and gentle boy is more than ready to start the next chapter of his life. Could you be the one to give Tanhyun the second chance he deserves?
